Summary: Petunia receives an unexpected letter.

Notes: Thanks to Jen, Pete/Melissa, Dot, and Meg. This was written for the hp100 Secrets challenge.

Date: June 1, 2004

Petunia stared at the letter in horror. Heavy cream-colored parchment, green ink, gold seal -- so familiar even after all these years.

All she'd ever wanted was for Dudley to be normal, and this bit of parchment and ink told her he wasn't.

(She secretly wondered, even after all these years, where her letter was, but quashed the thought easily.)

There was no way her Dudley was one of those freaks. The thought of Vernon finding out sent her into mild hysterics.

She tore the letter in half and set fire to it in the sink. No one need ever know.
